Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
